Momma's Lil Monsters

We had a small birthday party for Kaleb at our house on Feb 6th.  We had lots of family and friends come by to wish him a Happy Birthday.

The other night, my mommy senses were tingling when Kaleb left the room, I THOUGHT he had gone to the bathroom until I heard the sound of a chair being slid across the tile floor in the kitchen.  I ran in there just as Kaleb was dropping Sweet & Sour Pork into Tiny’s (our fish) tank.

Kaiden and I were hanging out today and chatting, this is the conversation that ensued….

Kaiden:  ”Mom, I love you” 

Me: “I love you more”

Kaiden: “I love you this big” (stretches his arms out)

Me: “I love you as big as the sky”

(this is banter we do all the time, but he got me this time)

Kaiden: “I love you as big as……your butt!!” 

Heh, I guess that means he loves me A LOT!!

I had a very busy day on Thursday so I switched pizza night and grabbed pizza on my way home Thursday.  So Friday we had corn dogs and tater tots, which Kaiden has apparently renamed “potato tots”. While serving them, I asked the monsters if they wanted fry sauce or ketchup.  Kaiden’s reply – “MOM! We aren’t having fries!”  Too smart for his own britches, what I am gonna do with this kid?

I made spaghetti bolognese for dinner tonight and Kaiden was digging right in when he discovered a stewed tomato in it.  ”EWW!! I don’t like tomatoes!!” So I told him “It’s not a tomato, it’s spaghetti sauce” <surprised look> “Oh, You’re right!!” and proceeded to eat it.  Muahahahhahaha!

Kaleb has always had a cute way of saying certain words, but now he’s decided he was born in Texas or something (haha) and seems to add a draaaaaaawl to everything he says.  Or he’ll repeat what you say in the form of a question that ends in a higher pitch than it started.

Example:

Me:  Kaleb, it’s almost time for bed.

Kaleb: It’s almost time for bay ed?!?!

Other funny definitions or pronunciations….

Mom = MOMP

Brother = brubbers or brudder (Kaiden is Kaidenbrudder)

Remote = camote

Blankie = glanky

Avatar = avagatar

Tigger & Pooh = Snigger & Poop

Balloon = calloon

Transformers Fruit Snacks = Fanformers Fruit Snay ack

I’ll add more as I think of them, so keep checking back on this one.

Not even gonna try and explain this one, but let’s just say Petie was quite confused when he came back to find this in his bed.
